NSNA Convention 2012
Having so much fun!! Dance party time :)
Jacqueline, 21. Florida. June 2011 marked the beginning of my journey to becoming a nurse. I am in a BSN program at the most amazing school and feel so blessed. I look forward to sharing my nursing school experiences with all of you. :)
Having so much fun!! Dance party time :)
Our spring social is Fiesta themed and is going to be so much fun tomorrow! We have tons of Spanish food, music, a piñata, slide show, and one of our professors is going to give salsa lessons :) Preparing the arroz con pollo as I type this! So excited!
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend! Have a great week!
I love when my weeks end on a good note! The Dean of my nursing school found out I got the NSNA scholarship and all my professors were so happy for me. They set up a meeting for me next week to take pictures and I believe an interview and I have to dress in professional attire :)
This week at clinical I finished my carp experience and we all got certificates. At med-surg clinical I pulled out my first NG tube, did my client education project on how to use an incentive spirometer, and I emptied my first ileostomy!
Tomorrow NSA at my school organized a service project at Quantum House and we are cooking a St. Patrick’s day dinner for the kids and families. We are decorating the entire house in St. Patrick’s day theme and we are setting up cupcake decorating for the kids! It is going to be a blast and mostly all my professors will be there!
I love my nursing family!! Pictures of tomorrow will be up after :)
Booked my flight for the NSNA Convention :) Yayyyy
“Nursing Students Night”: Button sorting for Hugs and Kisses Inc. (Part of our 1st service project of the semester for NSA to raise money to help cancer patients pay for their treatments)
The last couple of weeks have been so crazy. Had our first service project with NSA and we worked with an organization called Hugs and Kisses Inc. They make button bracelets for donations and help raise money for cancer patients and their treatment. We also had a local bagel place donate 60 bagels for our event. In total we raised about $200 dollars for cancer patients. It was such a success. The only bad thing was that because I wasn’t getting any sleep and nonstop planning for this event, sickness finally caught up with me.
Haven’t had too much time to post on here, but just wanted to give an update on what’s been going on lately. Not too much since I’m sick right now. Hopefully it’ll go away fast since midterm week is next week!
And I’m trying to study for my first Psych test tomorrow but I just feel so blah! Wish it was Spring Break already! 2 more weeks :)
Passed my first exam of the semester with a B and I just studied the night before! I feel really really really lucky! Ahh
Even better, I don’t have to worry about academic approval in regards to the NSA convention in April :)
Happy Sunday! This week went really well. I had my first day of Psych clinical and Med-Surg 2 clinical. Both were great, but Med-Surg was definitely more exciting. At Med-Surg 2 clinical my first patient was an oncology patient and he was fairly young. So sad to see, but I really believe he appreciated all the care he received on Thursday. This week (week 3) is going to be so busy and crazy. I have leadership fair on Tuesday and our NSA has a table set up. I have a dysrhythmia skit to perform on Tuesday as well (My group is V. Tach) and clinical journals and DHATs to fill out and research articles to find for Nursing Research. I also am assigned to lead group therapy at Psych clinical so that is what I am working on now. I’m doing art therapy so we shall see how this goes lol AND the NSA convention is coming up in April so there is ALOT of planning to do as far as registration, hotel, and flight! Hope you all are enjoying what is left of the weekend :) Have a great week!
Sorry I have been M.I.A. lately. First week of this semester was crazy, new, and exciting. So many projects I am organizing for NSA and I feel like overnight everything has worked out perfectly. It’s amazing how much things are turning around for our club with our new board. Friday is our first meeting and I think it will go very smoothly since we are ahead of the game!
Went to orientation for Psych. clinical and Med-Surg 2 clinical. Psych. was interesting and Med-Surg 2 was AMAZING. I feel so beyond blessed! This semester is going to be awesome!!
